Humanities ELP: Getting Started

"A waterfall starts but with one drop, and look what becomes of that."
I think that this quote is similar to the quote "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step"; I think the quote is trying to say something along the lines of someone has to start something for something big to happen, for example Ghandi wanted freedom and by protesting more people joined in and that led to the independence of India. I agree with this quote because big things can come from small things.
This links to our topic 'A Fair World' because the world could be a fairer place if someone did something about it.

A Fair World?

I think our topic "A Fair World" will be about country relations, peoples rights and how they can be taken away, Cost of various things in the world, if people have enough to eat, if people have a home and basically life in general.
We are learning about this to appreciate what we have and sympathise with less fortunate people. We are also learning this to understand that sometimes the world can be fair but sometimes unfair.
In this topic I would like to know what governments are doing to make the world a fairer place.

Human Rights Issues and Project Runway Reflection

Human rights issues Reflection

In the past few months I have researched about child soldiers and other issues. I decided to do a presentation about child soldiers because I had a few ideas for the presentation. I think I barely made it into link and I will try to explain and link even more in future.

Project Runway Reflection

I have learnt about how clothes can make a statement without actually making the statement obvious. For example when Lady Gaga wore a meat dress it gave many statements, one of the statements she was trying to give could have been women are not pieces of meat.
I have also chosen 5 items of clothing and described about how it's making a statement.
